Burt’s Bees Gloss & Glow Glossy Balm Review

As someone who uses only natural lip products (the thought of eating chemicals squicks me out), I was instantly intrigued by Burt’s Bees newest tinted lip balm, the Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss and Glow Glossy Balm.

I’ve sampled most of their tinted lip balm offerings and I have to say, Burt’s Bees have perfected the tinted lip balm.

Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss and Glow Glossy Balm in Wine Wednesday

I got the shade Wine Wednesday and it’s a deep wine red that applies very smoothly and sheerly, and leaves behind a transparent wash of color.

My Lips But Better

With one swipe, I got a MLBB look, which was exactly the same color as my gums. By the way, a good way to figure out your MLBB shade is to just look at your gums!!

Your gum color is your perfect MLBB color.

With multiple swipes, I got a deeper wine color, but still extremely natural. I have a thing about feeling self-conscious when I’m wearing a too obvious lip color because I’m worried about it rubbing off onto my teeth, etc.

But with the Burt’s Bees glossy balm, I felt confident even when I was speaking to others up close as it looks extremely natural and transparent.

Dupe Alert

And yes, in case you are wondering, the Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss and Glow Glossy Balm in shade Wine Wednesday is a Clinique Black Honey dupe!

Is it Moisturizing?

Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss and Glow Glossy Balm in Wine Wednesday has a sheer glossy finish.

Don’t you hate it when some lip balms actually dry out your lips even more? That’s like failing at the one job it’s supposed to do.

Well, I’m happy to report that the Burt’s Bees Glossy Balm was very hydrating, and my lips remained glossy and moisturized despite being a chronic lip licker.

Does it Taste Bad?

I hate scented lip products and thankfully this tinted lip balm doesn’t have a strong smell or flavor.

I detected a slight floral-fruity flavor which was inoffensive and vanished after a few minutes.

Lasting Power

The Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss and Glow Glossy Balm lasted well on my lips for a few hours but disappeared completely after eating and drinking, which I’d expected for a tinted lip balm.

That’s why I always keep a tinted lip balm in my pocket for touch ups.

Would I Buy This Again?

Heck yeah! In fact, I’m off to order other colors. 😊

Price

I got 2 Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss and Glow Glossy Balm for under $15, which I consider a good deal for an all-natural lip product.
