Your mindset can make or break traveling overseas with a toddler.
Like most things in life, if you are convinced that flying with your kid is going to suck, then yes, you’ll probably have a terrible time.
However, if you accept that flying with a kid can have its uncomfortable moments, but that millions of parents have done the same and lived to tell the tale, then you’ll end up just fine.
Ignore the haters
Yes, there are people out there who believe that young children should be kept away from sight and not be brought out in public until they are old enough to behave.
As a parent, I strongly disagree with that. We all have a right to public transportation and to travel, even young babies.
Having said that, I also believe that we should be considerate of our fellow passengers. We may not always be able to stop our child from crying or fussing, but we can and should find ways to stop the ear-splitting screaming and endless seat-kicking, which incidentally ranks as the top travel annoyance.
