Foundation matching — advice from Reddit
Buying foundation is such a hit or miss thing for me. Somehow, I always end up with a shade that’s completely wrong for me. And then I discovered this fantastic megathread at r/MakeupAddiction where the makeup aficionados there listed all the popular foundation shades that matched their skin tones.
I wanted to make that super useful resource easier to use, so I’ve extracted the shade info from the thread and sorted it by MAC shade.
Enjoy!

Hi Asma, I’m so glad you found the list useful! Currently, concealer shades are listed together with the foundation shades. I’ll definitely consider setting up a separate list for concealers in the future if other users think it’ll be useful.

Hi Melissa, I’m sorry you are having difficulties finding the right foundation match. How can I help you?
Unfortunately, finding the correct foundation shade is tricky as human skin tones come in a great variety of shades and undertones (warm, neutral, cool and olive).
It may help to see which shade you are closest to by looking through the images in this post. And then looking through the matches for that shade to see if you are currently using a similar shade.
Good luck and I hope you find your perfect foundation shade!
